Green Roofs in Cities

Green roof build upDay in day out city dwellers, especially of metropolitan cities, face growing environmental concerns including heat island effect and urban flash flooding. To participate in the alleviation of such tensions, ArchiGreen develops, manufactures and sells green roof systems that have the benefits of mitigating summertime temperatures and also attenuating stormwater runoffs.

One way to combat extreme temperatures and torrential floods in cities is by increasing vegetated landscapes. Green roofs are an excellent example of turning dark-pitch bituminous roofs to living roofs capitalising on both the economic and environmental benefits of vegetated landscapes. The proper choice of products integrated into the green roof build-up though, is vital to obtain a well-functioning green roof that can stand the test of time in the extreme and rigorous conditions available on a roof.

    Recently, ArchiGreen Ltd has published and updated a few technical product brochures and a Green Roof Catalogue. The Green Roof Catalogue is a compilation of some beautiful rooftop reference works within the last decade. It also serves as evidence that the technology exists to convert ugly flat black roofs into attractive and ecologically sound green spaces.

    At ArchiGreen we would like to take this moment to thank our increasing number of traders and contractors in Austria, Germany and the UK who participated in turning these green roof projects into reality.

    We would also like to grab this opportunity in asking more and more companies to join the ArchiGreen® Distributor Netwok so that we can unite our forces in promoting nature – through the sales of green roof products – for the benefit of each and every city dweller round the globe.

    The Green House complex located in Budapest, Hungary comprises several living roofs ranging from extensive all the way to intensive green roofs. ArchiGreen® – the world’s finest green roof products – was installed on all the vegetated roofs of this prestigious project in 2012. This is the greenest commercial establishment on the Hungarian office market and Hungary's only LEED Platinum pre-certified office building.
