Overview

The ArchiGreen^® PL protection mats comprising PL 300, PL 500 and PL 800 are made of rot-proof recycled synthetic staple fibres needled to form a mesh that reserves structural stability and durability and are thermally hardened on both sides. The excellent combination of needle puncture and thermal treatment during the manufacturing process results in their unrivalled CBR puncture and tensile strengths for the protection of the underlying waterproofing and root-resistant layers on a green roof.

The PL range offers outstanding mechanical properties at low weights per unit area thus ensuring maximum performance per unit cost.

Apart from their primary role which is guarding the waterproofing on a green roof, the entire range of PL protection mats are capable of retaining water and gradually releasing it in longer periods of drought when the substrate is dry and the vegetation on the green roof really needs water. This is the reason that a drainage board with excellent diffusion openings for instance SedumDrain^® is required on a green roof to facilitate irrigation by diffusion.
